Inez Bourque Ardoin, a devoted homemaker and lover of gardens, passed away peacefully at her home on June 5, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Born on March 29, 1931, in Grand Prairie, Louisiana, Inez lived a life marked by unwavering strength, a clear sense of self, and a resolute focus grounded in deep love for her family, community, and faith.
Inez ardently embraced her Cajun heritage, finding joy in the vibrant culture that shaped her, and she took particular delight in tending to her flowers, especially her beloved roses. Her strong faith in God was a cornerstone of her life, sustaining her through all seasons and inspiring those around her. Above all, Inez treasured her home and community, a place filled with warmth, care, and enduring bonds.
She was a woman of profound family values, a legacy she fostered throughout her 55 years of marriage to her late husband, Davis Ardoin. Together, they built a foundation rooted in love and commitment. Inez was the daughter of the late Adonis and Lillian Bourque and was preceded in death by her son, Daniel Lee Ardoin; and siblings Joseph Sully Bourque, Ethel Russell, and Donald Bourque.
Inez is lovingly remembered by her children, Nettie Bazer (Chris) and Vallery Hamilton (Rick); her brothers and sisters Steve Bourque, Hassa Fontenot, Elorise Guillory, Waverly Vidrine, and Juanita Montendon (Monty). Her devotion also extended to her grandchildren Denver, Cody/Kaluh, Will, Lanie, Laura, and Karen; as well as her great-grandchildren Maci, Marissa, John, Isaiah, Dakota, Audrey; and great-great-grandchildren Jonah, Amelia, and Elijah. Each carried forward her enduring spirit.
The family will receive friends and relatives for visitation on June 9, 2026, from 9:00 a.m until the funeral service honoring Inez at 1:30 p.m., followed by burial at St. Peter Cemetery in Grand Prairie, Louisiana, with Pastor Walter Zenon officiating.
Inez Bourque Ardoin’s legacy is one of steadfast love, cultural pride, and an unshakable faith, leaving a lasting imprint on all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of her family and community.
