Obituary

Guy Linus Soileau September 7, 1954 - September 30, 2026

Guy Linus Soileau, a lifelong resident of Ville Platte, passed away on September 30, 2026, at the age of 72. Guy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother whose greatest joy was his family. He was an incredible family man who worked hard, loved deeply, and always made sure his family was cared for.

Guy was well known and respected throughout the Ville Platte community for his many years as a pharmacist. A proud graduate of Sacred Heart and LSU, he continued his education at Northeast Louisiana University, graduating in 1977. Guy owned and operated Humana Pharmacy in Ville Platte for approximately 20 years and also served his community through his work at other pharmacies.

Guy had a special love for his hobbies. He enjoyed flying and especially enjoyed building and flying model airplanes. He also loved model trains and took great pleasure in operating his working train sets. He was an avid LSU and New Orleans Saints fan and enjoyed following his favorite teams.

Above all, Guy was devoted to his family. He treasured the time he shared with his wife, children, grandchildren, and extended family. The love he gave to his family and the memories they made together will remain a lasting part of his legacy.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 44 years, Kitty Boyce Soileau; his children, Haley Bordelon and husband Lucas, and Ryan Soileau and wife Ashley; and his grandchildren, Alyssa, Lila, Linus, Henry, Charlotte, and Piper. He is also survived by his siblings, Dr. Tommy Soileau, Louisa Deville and husband Doug, and Stewart Soileau and wife Susie; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Yves "Duffy" Soileau and Valerie Lafleur Soileau; and his nephew, Douglas Anthony "Smokey" Deville.

Guy will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his years of service to his community, his love of flying and model airplanes, and the many interests that brought him happiness throughout his life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at a later date.
