It is with the heaviest of hearts that the family of George Patrick Pat Derouen, Sr., 85, announces the passing of their beloved patriarch. He left this world to join his Savior in the next Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Mercy Regional Medical Center of Ville Platte. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in his honor at 10:30 AM Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church of Ville Platte with Rite of Committal to follow in the Evangeline Memorial Park Cemetery with Fr. Mitchell Guidry as Celebrant.

A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, Pat will be deeply mourned by his one true love, his devoted wife of 56 years, Mary Manuel Derouen of Ville Platte and their children: George Patrick Derouen, Jr and his wife, Lisa Soileau Derouen of Tate Cove, Gregory Paul Derouen and his wife, Tracey Stagg Derouen of Whiteville, Mellie Derouen Heller and her husband, K. C. Heller of Atlanta, GA. and Mary Margaret Derouen of Ville Platte. His memory will be cherished and passed on by his precious grandchildren: MLea Derouen, Patrick Elby Derouen, Bradley Paul Derouen, Samuel Robert Heller and Caroline Ann Derouen. Also left behind to mourn, his two remaining siblings, Charles A. Derouen and Betty LaFleur, both of Ville Platte. While a young man, Pat served his country with great honor and pride as a soldier in the United States Army, that pride remained ever present throughout the remainder of his years.

He will now reunite in Heaven with his parents, George Albert and Louisa Soileau Derouen and a sister, Dorothy Derouen Manuel they surely await his arrival with open arms and joyous hearts.

At the request of the Derouen family, visitation will take place at Ardoins Funeral Home of Ville Platte beginning at 1:00 PM Friday, December 5, 2014 and will continue until 9:00 PM that evening and will resume at 8:00 AM Saturday morning and continue until the time of the services. A Rosary will be recited in his name Friday evening at 6:30 PM.
