Frank Charles Goudeau, age 84, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 2, 2026 in Pine Prairie, Louisiana. He was born on Thursday, March 6, 1941, in Grand Prairie, Louisiana and was a devote Christian whose love for Jesus guided his life. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2026 at 12:00 PM at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte. Burial will follow in the St. Peter’s Church Cemetery in Grand Prairie with Brother Steven Sawtell officiating services.
Charles was an avid outdoorsman finding great joy in nature. He loved fishing in both fresh and salt water and enjoyed hunting as often as he could. Whether on the water or in the woods, Charles felt most at home outdoors. Among family and friends, he was known as “the #1 fan” of the New Orleans Saints, rarely missing a chance to support his team.
Charles worked as a respected general contractor in the Lafayette area, building commercial properties and homes through his company, Charles Goudeau Contractors. He took pride in his craftsmanship and the lasting work he left behind in the community.
Charles is survived by his loving children, Denise McCool and husband, Steve, and Brent Goudeau and wife, Jamie along with their mother, Dee Niederhofer; step children, Brady Delhomme, Tim Delhomme, Shelly Ardoin and Danny Ardoin; three grandchildren, Amanda Alaniz (Jonathan), Michael Burke (Brittany), and Danielle Quebedeaux (Todd); and six step grandchildren, Stephanie Forrest (Jerry), Ashley Blevins (Dylan), Tabitha Hudspeth (Ashton), Jonah Guillory (Tessa Galland), Gabby Guillory and Ben Hebert. Also left behind to cherish his memory are his ten great-grandchildren, Te'a, Amara, Triston, Brayden, Carson, Hadlye, Mercedes, Brooklyn, Jayden, and Gabriel; eight step great grandchildren, Madi, Levi, Kayden, Mikayla, Payslee, Josie, Jordyn, and Amelia; brothers, Dale Stelly (Sandie), Ronnie Stelly (Neva), and Mike Stelly (Barbara), and sister, Debbie LeBlanc (Tony)
Charles was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Roxanne Goudeau; parents, Henry Goudeau and Gerte Stelly; brothers, Jack Stelly and Lynn Stelly; and grandchildren, Brent "T-Brent" Goudeau and Amy Burke, whom he now joins in heaven.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 5, 2026, beginning at 10:00 AM until the time of services at Ardoin Funeral Home in Ville Platte.
Charles' faith was a top priority, and he lived each day grounded in his beliefs and love for family and others.
