Ville Platte Funeral services for Mr. Florence Lee Thompson, 86, will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at 1 p.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Evangeline Memorial Cemetery. Fr. Josh Guillory will officiate the services.

Mr. Thompson, a resident of Ville Platte, died Monday, December 29, 2008 at his residence.

A loving husband, father, and uncle he is survived by his wife, Versie F. Thompson of Ville Platte; one son, Darwin Thompson of Ville Platte; five nieces and five nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, DeJean and Ortens Thompson; a daughter, Barbara Jean Thompson; a brother, Andrew Thompson; and a sister, Eliza Mae Ardoin.

Family request that visiting hours be observed Monday, December 29, 2008 from 1 p.m. until 10 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 8 a.m. until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Monday.
