Eugene Clyde LaTour

VILLE PLATTE – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Clyde LaTour on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 1:00 PM. Entombment will follow in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum.

Clyde LaTour, known for his humor and love for his family, bid farewell to this world on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at the age of 75 surrounded by his family. Born on Thursday, February 24, 1949, in Ville Platte, Clyde lived a fulfilling life marked by his passion for hunting and fishing. He enjoyed spending time in nature, whether it was out in the woods or by the campfire. Cooking brought Clyde joy, but eating what he cooked brought him even more pleasure. One of his greatest joys in life was going to the camp in Saline, where he could relax, unwind, and create lasting memories with family and friends.

Clyde or “The King,” as he was fondly referred to by those closest to him, was a funny and lighthearted individual, always ready with a joke to bring a smile to the faces of those around him. His dedication to providing memorable experiences for his family will forever be treasured by those he left behind including his wife, Laine LaTour; daughter, Samantha LaTour-LaHaye (Bobby); and son, Gene LaTour (Brooklyn). Also left behind to cherish his memory are his three grandchildren: Sophee LaTour, Lillee LaTour, and Aubrey LaHaye and his brother, Woody LaTour.

Clyde is preceded in death by his parents, Garic and Ada Fontenot LaTour and brother Garic LaTour. 

Visitation to honor Clyde's life will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Friday, May 17, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a Rosary being prayed at 6:00 PM. The visitation will continue on Saturday, May 18 from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM.

Clyde leaves behind a legacy of laughter and love that will continue to warm the hearts of those who knew him. May his joyful spirit and cherished memories live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to have known him.

 Rest in peace, Clyde. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
