VILLE PLATTE- It is with great sadness and the heaviest of hearts that the family of Ellis Joseph Deville, 77, announces his passing on Sunday, February 22, 2015. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 1 PM. Interment will follow in the Evangeline Memorial Park Cemetery with Father Jason Vidrine, celebrant.
A loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend, Ellis leaves behind his beloved wife of 40 years, Winnie Daire Deville of Ville Platte, daughter, Jennifer Lynn Johnson and husband Nick of Basile, brother, Curtis Deville of Plaisance, and three sisters: Elsie Lavergne of Opelousas, Joy O'Conner of Ville Platte, and Lou Soileau of Ville Platte. Also left behind to cherish his memory are his five grandchildren: Logan, Maegan, Raegan, Conner, and Trae'.
Ellis will now reunite in Heaven with his parents Palamon and Annie Deville and his seven brothers and sisters. They will be awaiting his arrival with open arms and joyous hearts.
At the request of the Deville family, visitation will begin on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 from 11 AM to 11PM at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Ville Platte and will reopen on Thursday at 8 AM until time of service. A rosary will be recited on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at 7 PM.
All arrangements have been entrusted to Ardoin's Funeral Home of Ville Platte.
