VILLE PLATTE It is with immense sadness that the family of Edna Belle Fontenot Fusilier, 86, announces her departure from this world to join her Savior in the next. Belle was surrounded by members of her family when the angels called her home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 PM Saturday, February 22, 2014 at The Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church of Ville Platte Rite of Committal will follow in the Evangeline Memorial Park Cemetery of Ville Platte. Father Brian Harrington, Celebrant for all services.
A devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, Belle leaves behind her children: Benny Fusilier and his wife, Norene of Opelousas, Darryl Fusilier and wife, Janell of Watson, Dale Rusty Fusilier of Gonzales, Carolyn Daigle and husband, Sammy of Carencro a daughterinlaw, Vickie Fontenot Fusilier of Denham Springs and a special nephew, Berton Fontenot of Opelousas. Belle was blessed with eleven grandchildren and further blessed with twenty four great grandchildren they were the light of her life and her greatest source of pride. She will also be sadly missed by her sister, Betty Tassin of Alexandria. Her sweet spirit and gracious smile will forever remain in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to have crossed paths with her.
She will now reunite in Heaven with her beloved husband, Dale Fusilier, Sr., her parents, Eustice Fontenot and Modeste Brignac Fontenot, seven siblings, Rodney, Elvin, Lionel, Verna, Hazel and Clammie, a grandchild, Holly Cherie Fusilier, a great grandchild, Matthew Louis Walters and a grandsoninlaw, Kurt Bernard. They surely await her arrival with open arms and joyous hearts.
The Fusilier family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care and, most especially, to their mothers devoted cargiver, Jakarra Dugas.
At the request of the Fusilier family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home of Ville Platte beginning at 11:00 AM Friday, February 21, 2014 and will continue until 9:00 PM, visitation will resume at 8:00 AM Saturday morning and continue until the time of the service. A Rosary will be recited in her honor at 7:00 PM Friday evening.
