Dorothy Ann "Dot" Saucier

Dorothy Ann "Dot" Saucier, a cherished resident of Ville Platte, Louisiana, passed from this life into her heavenly home on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at the age of 77. Dot was born on Friday, July 9, 1948, in Ville Platte and lived her life as a devoted housewife, dedicating her time and love to her family and home. Funeral services will take place on Friday, August 15, 2025, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in the MB Fontenot Cemetery with Father Stephen Pellessier officiating services.

Dot is remembered for her meticulous nature and her enjoyment of simple pleasures, such as savoring Lipton and herbal tea. Her warm spirit extended to many hobbies and interests, including crocheting, fishing in her younger days, reading romance novels, baking, and taking pictures, which reflected her love for capturing moments of joy and beauty.

She leaves behind a loving family, including her nine brothers, Wayne, James, David, Billy, Edward, Johnny, Jamie, Larry, and Herman Vidrine, along with her three sisters, Carline Chapman, Gaynell Cummins, and Theresa Clark. Dot is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who will carry forward her memory in their hearts, as well as her furry friend, Ginger, who was a loyal puppy companion.

Dot was predeceased by her parents, Thomas Edison, Sr. and Ivy Nell Franques Vidrine, as well as her first husband, Burt Fuselier, and her second husband, Joseph Wayda Saucier. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Thomas Vidrine Jr. and Paul Vidrine and sisters,Barbara Vidrine and Mary Alline Fontenot.

A visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Thursday, August 14, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and again on Friday, August 15, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM. A rosary will be recited Thursday at 5:00 PM.

Dorothy Ann "Dot" Saucier will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and her legacy of love and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.
