Donald Ray Soileau

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Donald Ray Soileau, a beloved father and dedicated friend, who left this world peacefully due to natural causes on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the age of 71. Donald was born on February 9, 1954, in Ville Platte, Louisiana. A native of Grand Prairie, LA, he spent much of his life in Southeast Texas, where he created a family home and career.

Donald was a hard worker and spent many years as a welding inspector in the industrial sector, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues. His commitment to his profession was only rivaled by his passions outside of work. A man of various talents, he found joy in cooking, hunting, and fishing. He cherished the time spent in his garden, tending to his plants with the same care he extended to his relationships. Donald also had a deep appreciation for the arts, particularly blues and rock music. He often delighted family and friends with his harmonica performances, sharing melodies that resonated with his zest for life.

Donald was a cherished father, leaving behind his daughter, Tara Soileau, and son, Jeremiah Soileau. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Ivan Soileau, Alexa Soileau, and Adelle Zuniga, who will remember him fondly for the love and wisdom he imparted throughout their lives. In addition, he is survived by his sisters, Pat, Terrie, and Paula, who shared countless memories and stories with him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Soileau, and mother, Nan Soileau, as well as siblings David, Beverly, Charlene, and Jan. Their memories will be held close by those who remain.

A memorial gathering will be held in Donald's honor on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM at Ardoin's Funeral Home of Ville Platte, located at 709 W Main St, Ville Platte, LA 70586.

Donald Ray Soileau's legacy of hard work, love for family, and passionate pursuit of his interests will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His impact on those around him will be felt for generations to come.
