Diana Sue Monier, known to friends and family as Sue, was a beacon of light in the lives of those she touched. Born on March 11, 1953, in Mamou, LA, she peacefully passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, surrounded by her beloved family, at the age of 71. She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will forever be cherished by all who knew her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Mausoleum with Father Tom Voorhies presiding over services.
As dedicated teacher, Sue had a special gift for working with children. Her nurturing nature and understanding heart endeared her to her students, leaving a lasting impact on their lives. Sue's career was not just a job to her - it was a calling to make a difference in the world, one child at a time.
Sue's warm and loving personality shined brightly in everything she did. Her gentle demeanor and empathetic spirit touched the hearts of everyone she met. Whether she was spending time with her sister Glenda and her dear friend Judy, who was like a sister to her, Sue's presence brought comfort and joy to those around her.
She found solace and joy in simple pleasures like going to the beach with her loved ones. These moments of togetherness were treasured by Sue, who valued family above all else. Becoming a mother to her son and a grandmother to her precious grandchildren were among her proudest accomplishments, and she poured her heart and soul into nurturing and caring for her family.
Sue will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 38 wonderful years, David Monier; her son, Nicholas “Nick” Monier and wife, Brittany; her four precious grandchildren, Carter Lafleur Monier, Aleena Faith Monier, Paxton Joseph Monier and Vandi Jane Monier; her sisters, Glenda Deville Ardoin and Joyce Deville Dupre; her brothers, Rodney Deville (Kathy) of Merryville, Alexandre Deville, Jr. (Jane) of Pine Prairie; Ricky Deville (Angela) of Pine Prairie; Judy Brown Gaspard, her sister at heart; including numerous host of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Alexander Deville, Sr. and Edna Fontenot Deville; her father-in-law, Allen Joseph Monier; mother-in-law, Genevive “Jane” Higginbotham Monier; her sister, Earline Deville Guillory; and nephew, Scott Dupre.
