In Loving Memory of David B. Vidrine
David B. Vidrine, age 72, of Ville Platte, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on April 29, 2026.
A lifelong resident of Ville Platte, David lived a life centered on faith, family, and hard work. He was known for his gentle nature, patience, and willingness to help anyone in need—truly a man who would give whatever he could to others. He never met a stranger and was always friendly, often quick to crack a joke and bring a smile to those around him.David was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He shared 49 wonderful years of marriage with his high school sweetheart, Sheila Phillips Vidrine, building a strong and loving family together.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila Phillips Vidrine; his daughters, Heather Vidrine and Heidi Vidrine; his grandchildren, Kristen Ardoin, Gavin Guillory, Josie Guillory, and Macy Briley; and his great-grandson, Hudson Ray. He is also survived by his siblings, Richard Vidrine (Cindy), Bobby Vidrine (Debbie), and Carolyn Bourque (Mac).
He was preceded in death by his parents, RoseMary Vidrine and Burke Joseph Vidrine, and his sisters, Mary Elizabeth “Liz” Vidrine and JoAnn Mixon.
David spent part of his career teaching and coaching before working many years in the insurance business. Above all, he treasured time with his family. He enjoyed teaching his grandchildren life lessons, sharing french words, and spending time outdoors.His hobbies included fishing, playing horseshoes, camping, cooking for family gatherings, playing his guitar, and watching football. He especially loved listening to Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley and kept up with his daily Fox News routine.David had a special connection with children, who were naturally drawn to his calm and caring presence. He found his greatest joy in being a grandfather and great-grandfather.
He will be remembered for the love he gave so freely and the lasting impact he made on those around him.
