Dave J. Laborde, Jr.

VILLE PLATTE – A Funeral of Christian Burial for Dave J. Laborde, Jr., 77, will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at the Turkey Creek Church of Christ. Burial will follow in the Turkey Creek Cemetery. Rev. Jamie Roberts will officiate.

Dave Laborde, Jr., passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, in New Iberia, Louisiana. He was born in New Orleans to the late Dave Laborde, Sr., and Marion Jacob Laborde. Dave worked for Cleco and LIG as an electrician for a total of 38 years. Dave was an avid hunter of deer and ducks and enjoyed spending time at the camp with his boys. If you knew Dave, then you knew exactly what he would be doing after church on Sundays during football season. He loved cheering on his favorite team, the New Orleans Saints.  But mostly, he adored spending time with his family. His treasured memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Dave is survived by his sons: Dave Laborde, Kenny Laborde and wife, Paula, Christopher Laborde and wife, Anna, Evan Laborde and wife, Whitni. grandchildren: Dylan Laborde, Derik Laborde, Kenny Laborde, Jr., Jacob Laborde, Kate Laborde, Samantha Laborde, Taryn Laborde, Christopher Laborde, Jr., Miya Laborde, Aiden Tolbert, Sutton Laborde, and Aspyn Laborde; great-grandchild, Porter Laborde; sister, Simone Wise; and brother, Paul Laborde.

Dave is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Tesla Fontenot Laborde, and his brother, Michael Laborde.

At the request of the family, visitation will take place at the Turkey Creek Church of Christ from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.
