VILLE PLATTE - It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Curtis W. Ortego announces his passing on Friday, January 2, 2015 at his residence at the age of 86. A Catholic Funeral Service will be celebrated Sunday, January 4, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte. Interment will follow in the Gates of Heaven Cemetery with Father Mitchell Guidry, celebrant.
Curtis was a proud veteran having served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. A loving husband, father, and grandfather, he will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 61 years Dorothy Mae Fontenot Ortego, his son David Dwight Ortego and wife Claudia Franks, and his daughter Lisa Ortego all of Ville Platte. Also left behind to cherish his memory are his two grandchildren: Robyn Ortego Duos and Philip Ortego and his two great grandchildren: Ashton and Emily Duos.
He now rests in Heaven with his parents Willis and Marie Ortego and his brother Nellard Ortego.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Saturday, January 3, 2015 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary recited in his honor at 6:30 PM and again on Sunday, January 4, 2015 from 8:00 AM until time of service.
