Clifford Louis Belaire Fontenot, Sr.

VILLE PLATTE - A Celebration of Life for Clifford Louis Belaire Fontenot, Sr. will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte beginning at 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM. A graveside service and burial will follow in the M. B. Fontenot Cemetery.  Clifford passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2023 in Hammond, Louisiana at the age of 83.

Clifford Luis Belaire Fontenot, Sr. was born on Tuesday, November 21, 1939 in Belaire Cove, Louisiana to Maxile Belaire and Hazel Deville Fontenot.  Clifford attended Ville Platte High School.  He worked for Bellsouth Phone Company as a telephone service technician and as a waiter for restaurants such as Galatoire’s, Arnaud’s, Antoine’s and Christian’s. Clifford also raised cattle and enjoyed traveling to new places.  Some of his most memorable travels brought him to places including: Paris, France, Bordeaux, Poitiers, St. Germain and all the southern states.  Clifford enjoyed researching his family lineage.  He was a hard working and loving father, grandfather, and brother and will be greatly missed by those he loved.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his two sons, Clifford Louis Belaire Fontenot, Jr. of Hammond, Louisiana and Joseph Harris Fontenot of Kansas City, Missouri; five grandchildren, Tyler Joseph Belaire Fontenot, Colson Daniel Belaire Fontenot, Campbell Marlo Moise, Kalee Grace Fontenot, and Corey Joseph Wright; and sister, Belle Fontenot Norman of Florida.

Clifford is preceded in death by his parents, Maxille and Hazel Deville Fontenot; three brothers, Edison Fontenot, Aaron Fontenot, Harris Fontenot, and two sisters, Grace Fontenot Deville, Jeanell Fontenot, and Loretta Fontenot.
