Caroline Vidrine Chapman, a lifelong resident of Ville Platte, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2026 at the age of 77, leaving behind a beautiful legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to her family and those she cared for. Funeral services will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Thursday, August 27, 2026 at 10:15 AM. Burial will follow in the Addison Johnson Cemetery with Father Stephen Pellessier officiating services.

Caroline was a Certified Nursing Assistant and spent many years caring for the residents of Heritage Manor. She truly loved her work and found great joy in caring for others. Her gentle heart and compassionate nature touched the lives of many.

Caroline loved being outside, especially sitting on her porch, talking with family and friends, enjoying the warm breeze, and listening to the birds sing. She had a special love for flowers and took great pride in planting, watering, and caring for them, making her yard a beautiful place to enjoy. She also loved to cook, especially a squirrel sauce which was one of her favorite meals..

Family was at the center of Caroline's life. One of 17 children, she cherished growing up in such a large, close-knit family, where her parents taught them the importance of love, faith, and helping one another. She remained deeply involved in the lives of her nieces, nephews, and godchildren, Amy Andrus and Mary Elizabeth Pitre, and treasured the times when the family could gather together.

Caroline is survived by her brothers, Wayne Vidrine, David Vidrine, Billy Vidrine, Larry Vidrine, Herman Vidrine, Johnny Deshotel, Jammie Guillory, Edward Vidrine, and James Vidrine; sister, Theresa Clark; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

She is now reunited in Heaven with her parents, Thomas Edison Vidrine and Ivy Neil Vidrine; her sisters, Barbara Vidrine, Dorothy Saucier, Gaynell Clement, and Mary Fontenot; and her brothers, Thomas Vidrine, and Paul Vidrine.

Caroline's life was a blessing to all who knew her. She will be remembered for her caring heart, her love for her family, and the warmth she brought to those around her. Though she will be deeply missed, the love she gave and the memories she created will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
