Brother Jamie A Roberts

January 16, 1961 — August 3, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Brother Jamie Roberts, beloved husband, dad, proud poppa and minister, announces his passing on Sunday, August 3, 2025. Jamie went home to be with the Lord at the age of 64, fittingly on the Lord’s Day. A Celebration of Jamie's Life and Ministry will take place on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 1:00 PM. Following the service, Jamie will be laid to rest in the Turkey Creek Cemetery.

Jamie was born on Monday, January 16, 1961, in Ville Platte, Louisiana and faithfully served as a minister in his community for many years, offering guidance, compassion, and the hope of Christ to all who knew him. His love for the Lord and for people marked every aspect of his life and ministry.

Jamie’s family shares that “he struggled physically and emotionally for many years…he loved the Lord’s Church in a way that will inspire them always.” Two days prior to his passing he told his son, “As much as I love worshipping our Lord with our church family here, I am ready to worship the Lord with the Church triumphant in Heaven.”

Jamie’s vibrant stories and generous spirit touched the lives of many, as he consistently put the needs of others before his own. For twelve fulfilling years, Jamie served as the Pastor of the Turkey Creek Church of Christ, where his passion for sharing the Gospel and guiding others to know Jesus Christ was evident in all he did.

In addition to his pastoral work, Jamie was an accomplished musician. His love for music was evident when he was playing guitar with the Ray Chaffin Bayou Buggy Band. Jamie had a passion for learning, particularly about history, which he eagerly shared with those around him.

Jamie is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Vickey Shulla Roberts; his son, Jacob Roberts and daughter-in-law, Ariel; granddaughter, Selah Roberts; brother, John Roberts and sister-in-law, Kay; and sister, Judy Shadrick and brother-in-law, Frank, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Allen Roberts, Sr. and Marian Rose Fowler.

Family and friends are invited to gather at the Turkey Creek Church of Christ, for a visitation on Thursday, August 7, 2025 which will beginning at 9:00 AM until service time at 1:00 PM.

In life, Jamie brought love and laughter to so many, and as we come together to honor his memory, we take comfort in knowing that he is now in the presence of the Savior he so faithfully proclaimed. May he rest in peace, hearing those ever-faithful words, "Well done, my good and faithful child; welcome to your rest.”
