Brenda Maria Smith

Brenda Maria Smith, a beloved teacher and dedicated real estate professional, passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2025. She was born on Friday, August 22, 1947, in Ville Platte, where she nurtured a lifelong passion for education and the arts. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte. Burial will follow in the Ferguson Cemetery with Fr. Mitch Guidry officiating services.

Brenda earned her Master's Degree in Education, which propelled her into a cherished career as a teacher of students with special needs. Her commitment to shaping young minds and fostering a love of learning left an indelible mark on her students and the community at large. Alongside her role in education, Brenda also ventured into real estate, where her dedication to her clients was mirrored by her genuine warmth and understanding.

Throughout her life, Brenda embraced her interests with passion. She found joy in raising horses and had a keen eye for art collecting. Her love for Miniature Schnauzers brought her much happiness, and these spirited companions were beloved members of her family.

Brenda is survived by her sister, Beverly Smith; her nephews, Paul and John Monier; her great-nephews, Louis Monier, Tate Monier, Matthew Monier, and Joshua Ziegler; and her great-nieces, Gabrielle Bienvenue, Sophie Murphy, and Alexis Ziegler. She is also survived by her stepson, Mike Clark Jr., and her step-grandson, Taylor Clark. Brenda had a very special friend and neighbor, Mr. Charlie Corn, that took care of her needs during her critical times.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clement and Essie Tate Smith and her former husband, Mike Clark Sr.

A visitation will be held in her honor on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Ville Platte. A rosary will be recited Tuesday at 1:30 PM

Brenda Smith's legacy of compassion, teaching, and her zest for life will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
