VILLE PLATTE- Funeral Services will be held during an 1:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Pine Prairie on Friday, September 20, 2019, for Betty Morein Barzare, 80, who passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 in Ponchatula, LA surrounded by her loved ones.

Father Kenneth Mayne, Pastor of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, will be the celebrant of the mass and will conduct all funeral services.

Burial will take place in Ortego Cemetery.

Betty Morein Barzare was born on July 21, 1939 in Oakdale, LA to Ferdinand and Ebly Ardoin Morein.  She was a devoted wife for over 50 years. She loved her family immensely and loved spending time with them.  She enjoyed playing games and baking cookies with her grandchildren.  Her hobbies included reading, quilting, walking, and spending time outdoors.  Her kind and loving ways will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Shea and husband Tim of Baton Rouge and Phyllis Crayton and husband Ben of Ponchatoula; grandchildren, Brittany Shea, Lauren Heller and husband Jared, Catherine Crayton, Justin Crayton, and Jeremy Crayton; great-grandchildren, Uriah Cortese and Amelia Heller; and sisters, Yvonne Kerner of Baton Rouge, Francis Geraci of Ludington, MS, Margaret Veillon of Westlake, Josephine Baxter of Lumberton, MS, and Diane Ferguson of Slidell.

She is preceded in death by her husband Philip Harold Barzare, parents, Ferdinand and Ebly Ardoin Morein; brothers, Gerald Morein and David Morein; and sisters, Barbara Johnson, Dean Wallters, and Gail Fontenot.

The family requests that visitation be observed at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Friday, September 20, 2019 from 9:00 AM until 12:30 PM.
