VILLE PLATTE- It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Bernita Soileau, age 89, announces her passing on Wednesday, March 4, 2015. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 6, 2015 at 11 AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Ville Platte. A burial will follow in the Evangeline Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Jason Vidrine, celebrant.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Bernita will be greatly missed by her husband of 68 ½ years, Alvin J. Soileau and two sons, Kent Soileau and wife Beverly of Lake Charles and Brent Soileau of Ville Platte. Also left behind to cherish her memory are her 3 grandchildren: Dr. Monique Burke of Baltimore, Maryland, Trent Soileau of Natchitoches, Scott Soileau of Grand Prairie and her 6 great grandchildren.
Bernita will now reunite in heaven with her parents, Edoix and Oline Tate Fontenot, two brothers; Willie "Red" Fontenot and Isom "Ike" Fontenot, and two sisters; Rose Fontenot and Gloria Ardoin. They will be awaiting her arrival with open arms and joyous hearts.
At the request of the Soileau family, a visitation will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2015 from 4 PM until 9 PM and again on Friday, March 6, 2015 at 8 AM until time of services. A rosary will be recited in Mrs. Soileau's honor on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at 6 PM.
All arrangements have been entrusted to Ardoin's Funeral Home of Ville Platte.
