VILLE PLATTEIt is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family announces the passing of their beloved Barbara West on Tuesday, April 09, 2013 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Ville Platte. She was 80. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Our Lady Queen of All Saints in Ville Platte. Rite of Committal will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery with Father Mitchell Guidry Celebrant.

Barbara was a bookworm and loved to read and write, and she enjoyed birds and butterflies. She was also the family historian and was quick witted, fun, loved to smile, and had a kind and gentle soul. A loving wife, sister, aunt and friend, Barbara will be greatly missed by the love of her life, her husband of 56 years, Robert West of Ville Platte brother, James Braun of Oklahoma City, OK sister, Doris Dot Oberle of Bozeman, MT sister inlaws, Rose Braun of Oklahoma City, OK and Donna Ringwald of St. Louis, MO and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her beloved parents Lawrence and Agnes Braun brother, Glennon Braun sister, Janet Ringwald brother inlaws, Leroy Rip Oberle and John Ringwald and sister inlaw, Pauline Tudy Braun.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 from 9:00 am until time of Services. The Ladies Altar Society will recite a Rosary Wednesday at 10:00 am.
