Barbara Gail Lemoine, a cherished member of the Ville Platte community passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 5, 2024 in Ville Platte, at the age of 80. A graveside service to honor her will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024, at 4:00 PM at the Sacred Heart Mausoleum with Father Tom Voorhies officiating services.
Barbara was born on Sunday, February 20,1944 in Ville Platte, Louisiana. She was a caring and loving individual, known for her unwavering dedication to her family. Her life was a testament to the importance of family bonds, and she poured herself into giving love and care to them.
Beyond her commitment to her family, Barbara had a vibrant spirit that showed through her hobbies and interests. She found joy in playing golf and embraced the great outdoors with a passion for camping. An accomplished cook, she loved preparing meals that brought her family together. Barbara could often be found tending to her flowerbeds or cutting her grass, where her love for nature and gardening flourished.
Left behind to cherish her memory and loving spirit are her two sons, Joseph Dale Lemoine and wife, Aimee and Joseph Vic Lemoine, and wife, Shawna; daughter, Rachel L Davis and husband, John S.; 18 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; one brother, John Fontenot; and one sister, Maxine Chalette.
Barbara now rests with her beloved husband of 59 years, David E. Lemoine; parents, Daylin and Carrie Powers Fontenot; brothers, Jimmy “Fox” Fontenot and Glen Fontenot; and sister, Ann Miller.
Barbara will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for her loving spirit and the countless ways she enriched the lives of those around her.
