Ville Platte - It is with great sadness that the family of Avie TV Berzas, 87 announces his passing on Monday, September 28, 2009 at Ville Platte Medical Center. A funeral service will be Celebrated on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Ardoins Funeral Home Chapel. Rite of Committal will follow in the Evangeline Memorial Cemetery in Ville Platte with Fr. Gene Tremie Celebrant.

Avie was a man of great faith, honesty, and integrity. He enjoyed helping family and friends whenever needed. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, Avie will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 55 years, Octavia Tavie Soileau Berzas of Ville Platte; one son, Richard Steve Berzas and wife, Judy of New Iberia; two daughters, Judith Faye Fontenot and husband, Ceis of Copperas Cove, Texas and Marie N.D. Hunt and husband, Bob of Arp, Texas; a step daughter, Velma Deville Miller of LaPlace, La.; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mayas and Caroline Berzas; a brother, Roy Berzas; and a sister, Jane Aucoin.

The family request that visiting hours be observed Tuesday, September 29, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
