Anna Ruth Soileau, a cherished mother, beloved grandmother, and dear sister, peacefully passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at the remarkable age of 92. Born on August 6, 1932, in Reddell, Louisiana, Anna dedicated her life to the family she adored, leaving behind a legacy woven with kindness and unwavering devotion. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at 12:30 pm with Father Alex Lancon officiating. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Mausoleum.
Anna exemplified a tireless work ethic and dedication to serving her community. She shared her talents at Brown's Furniture Store, Park View Pharmacy, and alongside her beloved husband Calvin at their grocery store, Cal's Grocery on Tate Cove Road. The relationships she cultivated throughout her career were a testament to her warm heart and unwavering commitment to those around her.
Affectionately known as the "Queen of Homemade Fudge," Anna had a remarkable gift for bringing sweetness to every aspect of her life. Her warm, loving spirit created a nurturing home where family gatherings were filled with delicious food and joyful laughter. The echoes of holiday celebrations and Sunday dinners will resonate forever, as her culinary skills and caring nature brought everyone together in a comforting embrace.
She had a profound love for the outdoors. She found immense joy in her garden, where she diligently planted vibrant flowers that not only beautified her home but also brightened the lives of all who visited. Her nurturing spirit mirrored the way she loved her family, always offering gentle encouragement and unwavering support.
Anna leaves behind to cherish her many wonderful memories, her daughters, Donna Henry of Ville Platte and Karen Fontenot and husband, Gary of Bayou Chicot; her sister, Barbara Fontenot of Eunice; grandchildren, Lesley Istre and husband, Tony of Lafayette, Kevin Stacy Fontenot and wife, Danica of Ville Platte, Scott Brandon Fontenot of Lafayette, Kimberly McDaniel and husband, Shea of Ville Platte, Sarah Beth McGee and husband, Chris of Lake Charles, Jared Soileau and wife, Meghan of Vidrine, Phoebe Henry of Ville Platte, Brian Joseph Henry of Ville Platte, Brandy Soileau and husband, Chuck of Many, Janee Byrd and husband, Joel of Bayou Chicot, Josh Fontenot of Ville Platte and Shelby Fontenot of Bayou Chicot; 26 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Anna Ruth joins in heaven her loving husband of 64 years, Calvin Soileau; daughter, Sandra Sue Rozas; son, Joseph Calvin Soileau; parents, Euway Manuel and Agnes Guillory; sister, Agatha Guillory and brother, Donald Manuel.
Family and friends will gather to share fond memories of Anna on Monday, November 4, 2024, beginning at 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm with a Rosary being prayed in her honor by Deacon Tim Donovan at 6:00 pm. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at 9:00 am until the time of service.
