Anna Lee LaFleur Pitre passed away on September 14, 2026, in Opelousas, Louisiana, at age 100. Born September 1, 1926, to parents Aza and Ophelia LaFleur, Anna Lee was raised in Washington, Louisiana, with four brothers. Several siblings passed away before her birth.

In 1943, she married Rayford Pitre, Sr., and had their first son, Ray, Jr., while her husband was serving in World War II. They added two more sons and three daughters over the next twenty-four years. Even though she was a wife and mother, in her early adulthood, she was a well-known seamstress, receiving awards for her outstanding work. Gardening was a favorite pastime, as was entertaining her large family on Sundays and holidays. She also cherished every moment she volunteered at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Grand Prairie, LA, chairing the Lapin Festival fundraiser and serving as Queen in 1992.

Anna Lee was preceded in death by her husband, Rayford Pitre, Sr.; son, Glenn Pitre; daughter, Ginny Fuselier; granddaughter, Laurie Pitre; grandson, Scott Fuselier; great-great-grandson, Fisher Montgomery; parents, Aza and Ophelia LaFleur; brothers and sisters-in-law, Aza LaFleur, Jr., James and Della LaFleur; Clifton and Agnes LaFleur; and John and Bobbie LaFleur; daughtesr-in-law, Janelle Pitre, Debbie Pitre, Brenda Pitre, and Elda Pitre; son-in-law Jim Rougeau; and mother and father-in-law, Frank and Elaine Pitre.

She is survived by her children Ray Pitre, Jr. (Jeanne), Wayne Pitre (Pamela), Sandy P. Rougeau, and Angie P. Stelly (Troy); thirteen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; fifteen great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Senior Village Nursing Home staff and Louisiana Hospice Care staff, especially Melissa and Tonette, for their exceptional transitional care.

At the family's request, a visitation will begin on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 9:00 AM until the time of services, with a rosary being prayed at 10:30 AM by Deacon Ben Soileau. A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 12:00 PM at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Grand Prairie. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, with Father Stephen Pellessier officiating.
