VILLE PLATTE-Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 PM at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Monday, July 29, 2019, for Shirley Kate Fontenot, 60, who passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2019 in
Ville Platte, LA.
Deacon Ben Soileau will conduct funeral services.
Burial will take place in MB Fontenot Cemetery.
Shirley Kate Fontenot was born on April 5, 1959 in New Orleans, LA to Lonzy and Bonnie Wallace Minshew. She loved singing Karaoke. Her favorite song to sing was “These Boots Were Made For Walking.” Shirley enjoyed cooking, and she loved her three dogs: Lucky, Ginger, and Lulu. Shirley will be greatly missed by a host of family and friends.
Shirley leaves behind her husband of 16 years, Aaron B. Fontenot of Ville Platte; sons, Kirkland Haywood Fondren of Terrytown, LA, Clayton Edwin Fondren of Houma, LA, and Wayne Patrick Lyon of Robert, LA; grandchildren, Kaaren Dana Fondren, Paige Elizabeth Fondren, Noah Edwin Fondren, Rebecca Danyell Fondren, and Mia Elizabeth Lyon; sisters, Sue Giaise, Gail Ambert, Peggy Hinton, Rose Perez, Theresa Goins, and Sheila Verdin; and brothers, Frankie Fisher and Billy Minshew.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lonzy and Bonnie Wallace Minshew; and sisters, Margaret Guarnelo and Linda West.
The family requests that visitation be observed at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte on Sunday, July 28, 2019 from 9:00 AM until 10:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Monday, July 29, 2019 from 8:00 AM until time of service.
