VILLE PLATTE – Funeral services will be held at a 12:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte on Thursday, October 10, 2019 for Dorothy Mae Ortego, 87, who passed away on Tuesday, October 8, at her home in Ville Platte.
Father Mitchell Guidry, pastor of Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, will be celebrant of the Mass and will conduct funeral services.
Burial will take place in the Gates of Heaven Cemetery.
Dorothy Mae Ortego was a resident of Ville Platte and the surrounding areas her entire life. She was born January 25, 1932 in the Vidrine area to her parents Philip and Lelia Fontenot. She faithfully attended Mass at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church. She prayed her Rosary daily. Mrs. Dorothy also loved cooking for her family and gardening. Her greatest joy was attending the sports events of her great grandchildren.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Dwight Ortego and wife Claudia, her daughter Lisa Ortego, grandchildren, Robyn Duos and Husband Ross, Philip Ortego and fiancée Natasha So’oto, great grandchildren, Ashton Duos and Emily Duos.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Ortego; parents, Philip and Lelia Fontenot; and infant son, Donovan Matthew Ortego.
The family requests that visitation be observed at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Visitation will resume Thursday, October 10, at 10:00 AM until time of service. A rosary will be recited on Wednesday evening at 6:00 PM led by Deacon Ben Soileau.
