Rowena Fontenot

VILLE PLATTE – A Memorial Service will be held for Rowena Marie Fontenot at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte, La.  Pastor Brian Dore will conduct the service.

Rowena Marie Fontenot, 63, passed away on Friday, May 13, 2022. Rowena was born on April 15, 1959 in Ville Platte, LA to Oswald and Grace Fontenot. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and sister.  Rowena loved and adored her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed tending to her flowers and playing with her dogs, Tyson, Bootsie, George, and Chico.  She also enjoyed reading True Crime and Harlequin Romance Novels.  Rowena will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by daughters, Amanda Fontenot of New Roads and Ashley Laborde and husband, Lenny of Bayou Chicot; sons, Joshua Fontenot of Ville Platte and Jonathon Fontenot and wife, Natalie of Bayou Chicot; grandchildren, Jalen Pierrotti and wife, Laura, Emma Laborde, Layton Laborde, Alivia Whitten, Chloe Laborde, Ian Fontenot, Noah Fontenot, Landrie Fontenot, and Cole Fontenot; brothers, Oswald Fontenot and wife, Linda of Bayou Chicot, James Billy Ray Fontenot of Bayou Chicot, and Mitchell Fontenot of Bayou Chicot; and sister, Sandra Tougas of Fargo, ND.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dickie Fontenot; sons, Jacob Fontenot; parents, Oswald and Grace Fontenot; brothers, Jimmy Fontenot and Ronnie Fontenot; sister, Norma Rose Fontenot; and sister-in-law, Addiebelle Fontenot.

Visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte on Tuesday, May 18, 2022, from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM.
