Kenneth "Red" Vidrine

It is with the great sadness that the family of Kenneth “Red” Patrick Vidrine,77, announces his passing on Monday, November 15, 2021, surrounded by loved ones. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Friday, November 19, 2021, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.

Father Tom Voorhies will conduct funeral service and be celebrant of the Mass.

Entombment will take place at Gates of Heaven Mausoleum.

Kenneth “Red” Patrick Vidrine was born on July 2, 1944, in Ville Platte, LA to Delta J. Vidrine and Agnes Deshotel Vidrine.  Red was a faithful parishioner of Sacred Heart or Jesus Catholic Church and a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1754.  He worked as a Safety Coordinator with Conoco for over 20 years.  Red enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and fishing.  His greatest joys in life were spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.  Red also loved visiting with his friends over a hot cup of coffee and a warm biscuit.  His family and friends will miss him dearly but rejoice in knowing he is celebrated in heaven.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Jackie Vidrine; son, Brian Patrick Vidrine and wife, Tracy of Bayou Chicot; granddaughter, Morgan A. Vidrine; and grandson, Ashton L. Vidrine.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Delta J. Vidrine and Agnes Deshotel Vidrine; brother, Lanice Vidrine; and Della Vidrine Ortego.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.  Visitation will resume on Friday, November 19, 2021, from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM. A rosary will be recited by Father Tom Voorhies on Friday at 12:00 PM.
